The Humbie Hub Team

How did the Hub come about?

When the former Humbie Village Shop, house and Post office came on the market in 2013, Patrick and Linda Flockhart recognised the importance of a local shop and also saw an opportunity to create a vibrant community hub focus for the area. Patrick’s parents, Ross & Pam, had lived in Humbie for many years and contributed greatly to the community.

On 1st October 2013, Humbie Hub Ltd took ownership of the site and over the ensuing 18 months transformed the property into the exciting business at the heart of the community. Throughout the construction phase, Morag and her small team kept the shop and Post Office operational and it is now every bit the Hub the name promises.

The Hubbers are a dedicated team of about a dozen staff members – a baker’s dozen!

Part-time and full-time positions deliver all the Hub services – in the shop and post office, in the kitchen and cafe, in the office, and behind the scenes.

We focus on great customer service and offer employment for people who want to work in a friendly environment. It’s a place where people can consolidate their skills then move on or experience permanency.
